The Career & Technical Education (CTE) Programs were developed to prepare students for occupations important to Florida’s economic development. Here at Anclote High School, we offer 4 different CTE Programs: Advanced Manufacturing, Army JROTC, Culinary, and Promotional Enterprise. Many programs offer scholarship opportunities and/or industry certification/college credits.
Why choose a CTE program on your course card?
The AmSkills Advanced Manufacturing Program at Anclote High School helps students establish critical skills in systems-thinking and team problem-solving through hands-on, project-based learning. Students have the opportunity to explore different manufacturing career paths with a hands-on approach, including CNC Machining, Laser Cutting & Fabrication, Mechatronics, Robotics, Soldering, and more. Upon graduation, AmSkills assists students in securing a college or industry apprenticeship at local companies.
The Anclote Army JROTC Program provides meaningful leadership laboratory and instruction. Cadets (students) have the opportunity to develop individual leadership skills as well as an understanding of important leadership concepts. Students are appointed to important leadership positions in the cadet battalion and are monitored and graded on their performance. The JROTC program may be the “leadership basic training” for many of our students prior to the independence that comes after graduating high school whether it be college, establishing careers, the military, or any other path of life. Our mission is to motivate young people to become better citizens by providing a program focused on quality citizenship, character-building, and leadership skills.
The Anclote High School Culinary Program is a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards to prepare students for further education and careers in the Hospitality & Tourism field. Students grow in technical knowledge and hands-on experience during their time in the Culinary program, ultimately having the opportunity to earn industry certifications in ServSafe Certified Food Protection Management, National Registry, and ServSafe Certified Food Manager. These certifications can help students obtain careers in food preparation, cooking, and food service management.
Anclote High School’s Promotional Enterprise CTE Program, led by Mr. Lopez, helps students develop an understanding of specialized skills such as production planning, design, layout, and digital promotional campaigns and merchandise. Students also gain experience in digital design and layout management, production of embroidered apparel, direct garment prints, sublimation, banner creation, and more. This progressive program is only available at Anclote High School and gives students a leg up in the workforce with the ability to graduate with industry certifications such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Entrepreneurship, and QuickBooks.
